Moving Forward: The Future is Bright

The past year was one of substantial moves for RecycleMe Iowa, and the future is looking even brighter. Since we were founded in 2010, we’ve been perpetually inspired at the interest and engagement of central Iowa individuals, businesses, and special event. All that excitement has translated into opportunities for growth. Moving forward, we took a moment to reflect upon what we’ve achieved and want to share the direction we’re heading.

Recycling makes us smile :)

As always, we are operating in line with our vision to make recycling easy for people living in multi-family dwellings, small, medium, and large businesses, as well as special events and schools in the greater Des Moines area.

Where We’ve Been

In 2016 we hit a number of goals and achieved the following:

  • Acquired a new truck!
  • Moved into a new, bigger office/warehouse space.
  •  Expanded our service lines to include dumpsters.

That last point is important because it enables us to have an even greater impact on the planet by enabling us to provide our services to larger apartment complexes and businesses.

Where We’re Going

We’re ambitious and with the right mission, culture, hard work, and little bit of luck, we have the right team in place to achieve our goals. These goals include:

  • Launch a school milk carton recycling program with ReWall
  • Inspire others to make a difference and sign up for better recycling programs
  • Pilot a residential redemption program
  • Expand to Iowa City and Ames
  • Invest in more RecycleMe Iowa wearable, shareable swag
