Getting to Know You: Ciji Mitrisin

There are certain people that can help you shift your paradigm. They encourage how to think about something in a new light. That Earth you’re standing on? Yeah. It’s not just there, it’s important. They may make you work harder, because you know it will be reciprocated. And they may help life reveal itself as a cycle. A cycle of perpetual forward movement.

The movement maker? Chief Recycling Officer and Founder of RMI, Ciji Mitrisin. After graduating from UNI in 2006, traveling the New Zealand countryside in a van and embracing the culture of sustainability, Ciji landed in Des Moines. As an apartment tenant she saw the need for recycling options. RMI was born and is spreading the good recycling vibes to businesses and events as well.

So let’s get to know Ciji and if you run in to her during recycling pick-ups or at a fabulous RMI-ed event, she’ll probably give you a hug.
